I was caught by surprise a few days ago. An online friend (Susan from Rider Waite Tarot Cards) recommended I watch a YouTube video featuring Will Smith (see below) and naively I thought it would be about his film career – be prepared to be inspired.

“Make a choice…”

Watching the video halfheartedly at first (I wasn’t sure what to expect & thought I “should” watch it rather than having a real interest) a few seconds in I came alive!

I re-wound and started again.

“Just decide…”

Will talks about being happy to “die on the treadmill” and that really got me thinking.

Will was explaining how he will “out work” anyone else and will not give up on his goal – he’d rather die trying. And that got me thinking about the millions of people around the world who will end up dying in their work space cubicle (maybe not literally but certainly in spirit) because they are not prepared to take that leap and get off of the “wrong” treadmill.

“Make a choice…”

You see, I think Will has left out a vital ingredient in his interview:

We’re all on a treadmill. Many people work really hard and will not give up on their dream. They’ll go the extra mile. They’ll do more than required. But what if they’re on the wrong treadmill.

You’ll know that I don’t believe you should keep fighting – if anything is too difficult you’re heading the wrong way! You absolutely need to be in the flow.

So what if you come up against a Will Smith on your treadmill? What if he or she will either die or beat you?

What if you’re fighting a losing battle? If it’s all too much of a struggle you may be on the wrong treadmill. Maybe you should be going with the flow and not fighting against it.

So if you’re living the cubicle life and not the lifestyle you really want for yourself you HAVE to take a long hard look at your treadmill.

It’s all very well out running/working everyone else but ask yourself what for. Will whatever you are fighting for (promotion, recognition etc etc) get you the lifestyle you crave?

“Just decide…”

You can spend forty years in the “Cubicle of Death”, have a great career and look over your shoulder at a life time of something you really didn’t want – commuting; pressure; bosses breathing down your neck; just getting by…

Or you can do the right thing and get off the treadmill if it is the wrong one before it’s too late.

Start creating the life of your dreams. Follow your heart. Stopping swimming upstream and get in the flow because…

“You Have a Choice – Just Decide”

Here’s Will Smith’s treadmill…

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “”going with the flow”. But why is that so very important and what has it to do with the Science of Getting Rich?

If you’re anything like me you have days where nothing seems to go right – no matter how hard you try.

And then others where everything just falls into place, from the call you’ve been waiting for to a chance bit of information that changes everything you’ve been working on.

I’d like you to just think for a few minutes…

We’re all part of the universe.

The natural state of everything is to be in “the flow”.

Everything ordinarily takes the easiest path.

Rivers don’t go uphill. They don’t go over obstacles but around them.

Natural things don’t struggle.

Plants don’t struggle to grow – they just do it.

The wind just happens.

The sun doesn’t go round corners – it just beams down on us.

Rain and snow doesn’t fight against the wind – it just goes where it’s sent.

So here’s the real big question for you to answer…

When things aren’t going right and everything is a struggle what are you going to do about it?

Don’t fight.

Go with the flow.

Nature is telling you something – “YOU’RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!”

All of life was created to go with the flow – it’s just we’ve been conditioned to think differently.

So fighting natural laws is unnatural and definitely not what we should be doing.

I read a great email recently that used a brilliant analogy:

Imagine you are in a small rowing boat.

You do not have to row upstream. There is NOTHING YOU WANT UPSTREAM!

Everything you want is DOWNSTREAM.

This means you do not have to struggle (paddle up stream) to have it.

All you have to do is put your boat in the stream and let it carry you.

In fact, you don’t need to row at all.  Even if your boat is pointing in the wrong direction (upstream), as soon as you stop rowing the stream will turn your boat around without any effort on your part.  Then you will be going in the direction where everything you desire takes place.

Give up the struggle once and for all. Let go of the oars.

Trust that the natural energy will guide you downstream to everything you desire and start enjoying the journey.

It’s time to start going with the flow – I know you’ll find it much easier!
